Innocent Roots

"Born and raised amidst the Alberta prairies, Morgan Amyot has been driven by a passion to create since she first learned to draw. While her high school art years inspired a deep dive into creativity, the constraints of an office career pushed her artistic side into the background for far too long. After years of feeling disconnected, a watercolor class with her mother reignited her spark and allowed her to reclaim the joy of painting.

With her creative energy restored, Morgan began exploring new mediums and made the leap to enroll in the Milan Art Institute in 2023. As she prepared to graduate this year, she feels as though her artistic journey is only just beginning.

Her work beautifully balances the drive to explore and evolve with a gentle reminder that we can constantly expand while staying deeply rooted in our authenticity."

The Piece That Changed Everything

This piece changed my life. It made me believe in myself. That fine art was a possibility of my future. Others believed in me too. The original sold right away. I'll forever be grateful to the collector that instilled confidence within me. With the profits I made hand embellished prints and over time gave them to very important women in my life.

Tears of Joy

Significant milestones arrived as I began to dedicate more time towards refining my artwork. This is the first portrait I completed in oils. I'll never forget the ecstatic disbelief I felt realizing I had accomplished what I had thought was the impossible. I was brought to tears knowing that my dreams will one day become a reality.

Artist Statement

I've learned that the most beautiful thing an artist can do is simply allow themselves to grow. My work is a reflection of that journey. I am someone who is forever changing. Honestly, I'm not the exact same 'me' I was even two weeks ago, and I think that is a wonderful thing. Every time I pick up a brush, it is a fresh start. My portfolio is a collection of these feelings. By embracing this evolution, I hope to invite you to do the same: to evolve, experiment, and to greet every new day with open arms and a life full of colour.
